meyers parrot vomiting?

i think my meyers parrot vomited. I had her on the floor with a blanket because i was cleaning her cage and when i returned i saw some orange liquid, it smelled. the only thing i could think of that is orange is the food.she also shaked her head to the side.why would she vomit?i would of taken a picture but my camera is not working

Is she bonded to you? Parrots will vomit to you if they love you. It could be if they want to mate with you, but it could be just a very close bond, perhaps? Has she, erm....., ever done the little mating dance to you?

Here is a Meyer's mating dance. Although.... It's not breeding season. That's in the spring, i think? But my senegal has been attempting to mate with me and it's winter, so I'm not sure if that matters, and spring is only a hormonal period. But, anyways, it could be a mating or bonding thing.

On a completely different note, could it be health related? If it doesn't sound like the above (Mating, etc.) then you maybe want to go get her checked out by an avian vet.

Birds typically vomit if they are sick. If she hasn't been to an avian vet, now may be a good time to get her to one to make sure she's fine.

He don't really need to be bonded to you to regurgitate, he may be doing it to the blanket for all you know. But for a piece of mind just in case something is wrong, a vet visit would be wise like Monica suggested!

My bird pukes all the time! She began only doing it for me, but now she throws up for my husband sometimes too. I was concerned at first, but after doing some research, I found that this was just a bonding thing, and she does it when she's happy. Although, she does sometimes puke when she's in the car, which is motion sickness or carsickness. The head shaking is what they do to get the vomit out of their mouth and off of their beak, but I don't think you should be concerned. Maybe, if you say she isn't bonded to you, she was feeling really happy, or she likes the blanket you've given her! Mine has been throwing up, like, once a day for as long as I've had her. Hope I've helped!

There's puking, which is an involuntary reaction, then there is regurgitation, which they purposely do to feed another. Knowing the difference is beneficial in case your bird *is* sick and needs to be seen by an a-vet.
