Peeko (GCC) is coming home in a week or so! Now the breeder has given me instructions on what to feed him, but it sounds complicated. I figured I'd come here for advice...
She said to feed him parakeet/budgie food for a couple months, then transition him to cockatiel food, then transition to conure food. That sounds (possibly) more complicated than it needs to be to me - I thought I'd have to feed him conure pellet food with fresh fruits, veggies, etc right away. Of course I've never had a young parrot before, so maybe this is a complete newbie question...
As far as transitioning from one food to another, she said to gradually mix the new food in with the old food, more and more over time, before switching over completely. Is there any other bits of advice I should know?
