African grey POOP!

Hello everybody!

Please can you tell me how often a African grey parrot poops?

It depends on were they are. African grays will not poop were they roost(sleep), so they avoid pooping in their cage at all cost. You really have to keep them in there a long time for them to do so.

Outside of their cage they are average at 20 minutes between each poop. But like all birds they can poo more often or less often. A stressed bird will poop often, and sometimes it will appear more watery.

I agree. My Grey fits that pooping profile.

He doesn't poop often but when he poops, it's MEANINGFUL and makes a huge splat! Think Macaw-size poop.

Your grey has Macaw sized poops? Wow! Ours will have a big poop in the morning without a doubt, but the rest of the day they arent that big. Evry 20 to 30 minutes. She squats so we know when it's going to happen and place her on the playtop stand.

No, just first poop usually but they're BIG in the morning. He's a very large Grey and is a fantastic eater. Given a plate of food, he actually chooses the most healthy items first. He gets a lot of fiber in his diet.
