both my kids have vomiting viruses and are on the toilet(if you know what I mean)

I wanted to disinfect the door handles, and anything they have touched.

what can I use that is safe around my birds?

I use diluted vinegar (1/3 vinegar, 2/3 water) to clean everything in the bird room, but I'm not sure how good that is for a disinfectant.

I've always used those wipe things....to me its better then spray as it doesn't last too long on the smell....

Go with straight vinegar. Your house will smell like a easter egg for a few minutes but all germs will be dead!

I have done that too but was afraid that the smell would be too much for the birds to handle.

I ended up using lemon juice. I thought it smelled better than vinegar, and while I had a moment I decided to clean my kitchen floors. wow! they are sparkling clean.
