My friends Steve and Kim anre having to bomb their house for fleas and we will be keeping Frido their YN amazon for them. I don't worry about quarantine because 1 Frido is an only bird and 2 Steve is who does our bird sitting so all my fids have already been over to their house and been exposed to Frido...anyway that is kind of a background...my question is how long will I need to keep him till it will be safe for him to go back home? I know that you have to do several round s of bombing as well...thanks

I found a flea on one of my dogs the other day, the first time EVER in 12 yrs...

I doused him with flea shampoo, and I sprayed the yard...

But I been wondering this same thing about flea bombs inside the house...
Not sure if its necassary just yet...

Ill be watching this thread....

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Personally, I would give it 48 hours, and make sure they clean everything real good afterwords before bringing the bird back in.

I just left mine outside for a good 4 or 5 hours after the recommended time for people and other pets with all of the doors and windows wide to air out properly and they are still happy and alive! Haha

Off topic kind of but I really back Advantage and it's counterpart for dogs to get rid of fleas on animals. Once they can't live on them you can get your house cleaned in a manageable amount of time.

I've heard before that 72 hrs is best after a flea bomb to start introducing pets back into their environment. I'd say that was a little much for other animals but since birds have such fragile respiratory systems I'd say that's appropriate :]

I I've never had any luck using advantage! It's awful. Not sure it it's any different over here. Mine can get really bad fleas because we live on a farm and my yard can get pretty dusty and there are a ton of other dogs on the farm and I have no idea if they get Dr flead regularly
