Hi,
I have a pair of Bourkes that have started be interested in mating, they have picked a fairly large nestbox approx 30cm x 30cm x 30cm,they have been in this box alot,I looked this morning and found 2 eggs and nothing else,no nesting material, they on the bare wood,do I interfere and put some wood shavings in and lay the eggs on that, or do I keep my nose out and leave them to it
any advice would be helpful, never had these birds before.
thanks
Brian

It wouldn't hurt to try giving them some nesting material but they may or may not accept it.

If the nest box doesn't have a concave bottom, you may want to invest in one for future use.

parakeets are known for removing nesting material with virtually nothing left in a nesting box....I have no idea why, must be genetic.

like monica said, offer some and see what they do with it.
