Reputable shop in Tennessee

This is a crazy question and if it's breaking any rules of the forum I apologize in advance can anyone recommend a reputable shop in east Tennessee I lost my Scarlett macaw after 37 years together she was my baby we are wanting a new bird this time a sun conure my granddaughter who is soon to be living with us full time is a bird nut like me and I'm thinking a sun conure would be a great beginner bird for her and a bit slower paced than our beloved Bogie was any help would be greatly appreciated in finding one preferably in our area thanks

Not sure about any good bird shops in your area, but you can google it and I'm sure you can find at least one. As for "reputable" go in person and look around and ask questions about birds to get an idea what the shop is like.

Also, there are many, MANY Sun Conures in rescues to consider going to meet.

Or, if you really want a baby, there are always many private breeders for Suns.

OR... No matter where you obtain your bird from, have you ever considered that there are literally hundreds of other parrot species, many of which are readily available as pets, and might not scream as loud as a conure? It's up to you, but just reminding there are options

James Stephenson has a breeding program. I believe he is in Dickson tn. I got Juno my caique from him

If you can make it there is a bird show tomorrow and Sunday at the fairgrounds in nashville he is usually always the with some of his birds

He is really nice and very knowledgeable...not sure if he has sun's but he had several smaller species last year.

I'm so sorry you lost Bogie after all those years together

.

As others have mentioned, there are many suns out there needing to be adopted as well as numerous breeders who hand rear them

Though, from what I hear, conures may be small but they are full of energy

I'll be at the fair tomorrow as well, James is the owner of "The Bird Hut" in Dickson. I usually help him out at the bird fair with his birds. Last fall I was handling his catalina and the blue and golds. I helped him sold one of the Blue & Gold. But the Catalina didn't want to leave my sight for nothing....lol
