I just read on another forum that you should not mix different pelleted food because they are 100% nutrient the birds need. The grey came to me eating Zupreem the fruity looking ones, and Roudybush so I bought these and I have added Harrisons to the mix trying to switch him to Harrisons only. What have you guys heard of this mixing being bad.

I think who ever said mixing was bad was insane ... and not very good at math.

If one pellet is better than the other then you can mix them to transition gradually. If they both provide "100%" of the birds nutrients, what do you get if you mix half of each? Last time I checked the average of 100% and 100% was still 100%!

Mix away.

Are you also offering some fresh fruits and veggies? These are important even if they are on a great pellet - and all three brands you mentioned are great pellets.

Fruits yes will be going to the store to get veggies today. Any suggestions on what seems to be a hit?

My tiels love it when I skewer carrots, spinach, lettuce, and steamed broccoli. It's a huge hit. All three of those are their favorite vegetables. You can also skewer apples and strawberries, I haven't tried that yet but it sounds good.

I have a container of veggies all chopped up and mixed together, and I pour them on a plate for the boys for lunch and dinner. Breakast is scrambled egg with flax crackers (for a healthy treat). You can mix spinach with eggs too, they love it, and it make an awesome source of protein and the healthy fats (omega-3s).
Hope that gives you some ideas. :)

Saying to not mix pellets for those reasons is just weird. AD has it right.

Now, I never mix old pellets with new pellets, but other than that...I don't understand the issue.

What you should not mix is seed and pellets because the bird will likely just eat the seeds. Greys do need more protein than other parrots. I will give hard cooked egg, chicken (they love the bone marrow too) and small bits of cottage cheese at times.

My grey gets no seeds at all. I am switching him to Harrisons and he gets fresh veggies, and fruit daily.

My sun Consure was a seed junky so I am switching him to Harrisons and fruits and veggies

I also just picked up some Volkman Featherglow Soak & Simmer - Bean Mixture to Cook for Birds and Volkman Soak and Simmer 15 Minute Birdeez Buffet to give them too sometimes. Also will be doing some spouted beans here and there.

I feed a pellet and seed mixture and my birds eat both of them. I've done this for years with no problems at all. They also get 2 - 3 different kinds of pellets mixed in with the seeds, fruits and veggies too. And of course, they eat what we eat for dinner along with the occassional junk food.

I have always mixed pellets, and think it adds to the variety....hopefully, it also prevents "selective" eaters. I use Zupreem, Roudybush, and Harrison's.
I been making my own version of "chop" for fresh food which works great b/c I can freeze it

The Chop Blog Parrot Nation

And I hang different veggies from skewers as "toys"
I recently purchased some Goldenfeast brand products and have been super happy with the quality. The freeze dried veggies and fruits have no preservatives and make perfect foraging toy stuffers
