Ever since moving in with my boyfriend, I haven't been able to use any scented perfumes, air fresheners, cleaners, etc. because his father is very scent-sensitive and allergic to the strong chemicals used to create the smells. Then, of course, I welcomed Avery into my life and even further removed any scents whatsoever and relied purely on natural cleaners such as GSE and organic apple cider vinegar.

I use Avitech to clean the cages with GSE and the AC vinegar, but I do really miss having a nice... scent, for a lack of a better term. I've always loved scented candles, potpourri, air fresheners, and the like, but we've since parted ways and have said our farewells for the health of my birds.

But, I kind of stumbled across the idea of using teabags as a way to freshen things up when drinking it one night. I love the smell of tea, and I know that there are quite a few teas that are even safe for bird consumption. I've toyed with the idea of using decaffeinated peppermint teabags in my bucket that I put the water and vinegar/GSE in to make the water smell nice and leave a nice scent, and then using the crushed up leaves inside on the bottom of the cage to keep the peppermint scent. It's light, not strong, and completely natural. Do you think it would be safe to do that? Would the scent be too much for the birds? I'd greatly appreciate any input
