Anybody else hear a sort of cracking noise from some movements their bird makes?

Hi there.
I thought I was imagining in, but I am pretty certain I hear a sort of cracking sound sometimes when playing with Tiger.
Its almost like the sound us humans get when you stretch your elbow and it sort of clicks.

Should I be concerned? It doesnt seem to phase him, and I cant pinpoint where I hear it from. Iv tried to feel around...
For all I know he may be making the sound as part of the game...

Hmm, I have no idea, but it doesn't sound good to me.. How old is Tiger?

I think I know what you mean. Every now and then like when our joints crack. I bet it's just that. It's more of a muffled little pop sound like it comes from deeper within, but not really a click. I've heard it with several birds before on occasion. If it's that, I wouldn't worry. Hard to tell if you're describing something else all together.

Tiger is about 8months.
Yes its something like that, a muffled pop. I don't hear it everyday but every now and then.
I don't think its anything but how can I be sure?

My conure makes cracking noises all the time; especially when she is happy and content. The cracking sounds come from within deep in her throat. I have to be very close to her, 6" or less, to hear those sounds. I just cuddle her a little bit and she starts making cracking sounds.

If it's what I think it is, it's on occasion only and it's fine. However, since nothing can be accurately projected over the Internet, and if you're concerned, it's best to see an avian vet in person. That's the best anyone can suggest on a forum ;)

I think (?) the OP is probably talking about one single muffled pop, every now and then upon movement of the body, like when our joints pop sometimes...

Possibly air sac mites? Don't want to worry, but my canary crackled, and he died from air sac mites. I had no idea until I found him dead. I would be concerned. Watch his breathing.

Maybe a vet check just to be sure is a good bet since as you can see, lquan, socalwendy, and myself all are guessing what you might be describing, and we are all coming up with a different interpretation. :)
