I live in south Texas, this morning the weather was mid 70s and muggy. Cold front pushed thru and we are in the 50s. Since the weather turned Buddy has been screaming, copying sounds, and talking. He doesn't talk much, or only when we are not in the room but today he was chatting it up with me. I was able to make Good Boy and he was asking questions. This went on for about an hour. So I was wondering if the weather had anything to do with his spunky good mood.

Kiwi is typically a little less active during the winter. He spends more time in his hut.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Not so much in the moderate climate with my parrots, but very warm weather makes them sedate and quiet.

I honestly haven't noticed a difference with the birds activity level, but I hate having to turn the lights on sooner lol.

Poicephalus breeding season is in the winter here, and this season especially around December, I will have to be more careful than at other times of year with handling Robin if I'm to avoid vicious hormonal bites (and Griffin when he grows up).

Thanks. Today Buddy is subdued. Maybe yesterday was a "Buddy Moment". I've been told he has a large vocabulary and over the last month he's been saying words. Since I got him in March, he hasn't said much. Yesterday was the first day he has talked with me in the room. He was spunky yesterday but today is is back to his old self I know. I enjoy his spunky moments.
