Getting no where, will I ever?

So about a month ago I got a 5 month old Senegal parrot. He wasn't raised by hand and it not really confident with humans. He hides in a corner of his cage when I enter the room.
I've had him 4 weeks now and am getting nowhere with him. He's obviously the equivalent of a wild parrot as he was raised by his parents in an aviary.
Can I ever tame him or is it just too late?

It's not too late. All birds are different and some require a longer adjustment period. A hand raised chick doesn't guarantee training success. Parent raised birds can be just as friendly and well adjusted if given the chance. Here's an excellent link to get you started in the right direction.

one off my green cheeks was hold in an aviary with his parents in a shed for a year,he too was really afraid for humans,now 11 months later he is okay,he is still a bit fearfully but i haven't been training with him ,i just let him do whatever he wants,he does give me kisses,preens my hair everyday and is always sitting on me of somewhere nearby,but touching is something he is still afraid of.
You only had him for 4 weeks ,building trust is months work or longer depending on the bird.

Four weeks isn't such a long time. Taming is a funny phrase, conjuring images of breaking or waring down the subject - I think of more as needing to win the bird's trust. Take it slow, let the bird set the pace, and gradually things will change.

It was 6 months before I could touch my re-homed bird. It's not always easy, but birds really do acclimate and do things in their own time,which for some is slow-going.

Never give up. The reward of trust the bird will put into you will be such a huge reward. I know I got to eager and had to step back some . Its respect and trust . Takes awhile....... At least that is my opinion but I am new to all this

I believe that in time you will get somewhere with him, but it will take MUCH patience. Remember that Senegals and family have a natural tendency to be on the skittish side (quicker than some species to freak out) and that's normal, so even more so when wild.
Good news is Senegals are a species that do get very tame with humans, so in time it will happen. Though you may never get a 'cuddly' Sennie, you should have one who will step up without fear and eventually want to be your best buddy

It "seems" impossible at first, but just keep in mind how decades ago, people kept wild caught adults as pets, and even many of those eventually got tame enough to be nice pets. If it happened then, it will definitely happen with your baby Sennie as long as you remain consistent and don't give up
