1 CAG, Lucy (aka Miss Poops)
Hello all,

I'm bringing home a CAG in a few weeks. It will be 12 or so weeks old then. I was just wondering the best way to get him/her adjusted to its cage and new surroundings. It's already been in a cage for a while now, so I'm not nervous about getting it comfortable with the cage, but I am nervous about things IN the cage, like toys, perches, and food dishes. I don't want to scare it. And I have some concerns about him/her getting adjusted to me and my family. Any tips would be great.

Thanks!

You may want to look up Birds for Dummies on line. We printed out the bringing home portion because you do forget. To summarize a few points: give him 3 days of peace to adjust. You should still talk to them, make eye contact etc. When the time comes, each member of your family should spend time with him every day to avoid him bonding with just one person. My new Brax is very shy. We're trying to gain his trust. He loves Papaya treats.
