Hi Everyone,
I have a male Parrotlet of 4 years old that I need some advice on. He has a very bad feather picking habit, and is also territorial and aggressive. He tries to bite anyone that gets near his cage, and also has a strange obsession for plastic and cardboard for which he will sit for hours next to, also defending it aggressively. These behaviors make me think that the picking is more a result of physiological problems than environment / diet although I am looking to improve both. I understand the importance of socialization but I find it difficult with the biting and knowing he will run to the first piece of paper he sees rather than the attention of me.
What can I do to turn this guy around?
Thanks:
