Hi I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to all the members of the Parrot forum and tell you a bit about myself. My name is Ken Morgan
I am married and have 4 children that have left home and have a family off their own. The wife and myself live in a small country town in central Queensland Australia.
I am retired and my hobbie is breeding parrots and hand raring the young as pets then sell them this is a very rewarding project when you see a young parrot grow and become human friendly and the fact that each parrot has its own personality just like us humans.
I started doing this around 10 years ago I had a few cockatiels and a couple of princess parrots I now have quite a few parrots around 200 all together consisting of Sulphur crested cockatoos, Galah, crimson Rosellas, Sun conures, cockatiels, Princess parrots, Indian ring necks, Eclectus parrots, Plumb head parrots, Quaker parrots, Burke parrots and turquioisine parrots, Budgerigars, I also have one Macaw called Macca he is my friend I hand raised him from 8 days old he is now 15 months.
The wife and myself have hand raised up to 43 young at a time it is about a 9 hour a day job.
So as you can guess I have learnt quite a lot about parrots and their ways and what it takes to care for them learnt some of what I know in the school of hard knocks and still learning and looking forward to sharing it with the menbers.

Welcome aboard Ken,

You mention that you're retired, yet a few lines later you're spending 9 hour days handfeeding/rearing young birds, then you speak of building & running your own website.....you and I have different interpretations of 'retired.'

Congratulations on your endeavours.....hope you enjoy your stay.....
