Lilo - Female Green Cheek Conure ~ Pal - male cockatiel ~ Pheobe - female cockatiel
Not soon but in the summer, for my b-day, we will be going to South Dakota and to Minnesota to visit family. I want to bring Lilo though. Is it a good idea? We will be staying at my cousins house witch is dusty... then we will be at my aunts house witch she used to have a conure so it is bird safe. so my question, is it worth it? I really want what's best. And I want my Lilo with me!

Tweety - Budgie 1984 - 1987

I take Buddy and Venus with us for weekend trips. They do great, the only issue I have is Zoe, our inlaw's dog. She's young and active and looks at Buddy and Venus like they are lunch. So Buddy and Venus stay in the room we stay in with the door closed. When Zoe is outside on her leash, I bring them out. The room we stay in is a family room so they aren't alone. When we eat, they eat so they are happy. And we keep their cages up high on top of a cabinet. Both parrots love the car ride and the attention from the kids. As long as the rules we've established are followed, all is well and then I don't get punished by Buddy for leaving him, lol.

Thanks! I already have three dogs and one dog the big 100 pound German shepherd Rottweiler Labrador mix loves to eye the birds, so I have learned from her all the necessary precautions. :) Do you think the dusty moldy house will be an issue? I guess I could bring the air purifier with me. I also have issues with dust so it would be beneficial for me and Lilo :)

I say take the air purifier to keep you all happy. My zoo consists of one big english bulldog, two pugs and two parrots. Husband likes to call himself Noah, lol! I love taking the zoo with me and they all enjoy it too. I think you'll enjoy it too.

Thanks :) I think for all of us, the air purifier will help! And I think the only pet we would bring is Lilo, but at camping, its all the dogs and sometimes if its not far away, we bring the bunny! :) And I know how you feel, we have a zoo too! :) It is complicating but I really enjoy the responsibility! :)
