I have a green cheeked yellow sided conure and weve been together for about a month now, hes getting really attached, hes great and i love him very much. I have a question though, why, when i cover his cage at 9 or 10, does he continue to make noise? He will sit in the cage and emmit a somewhat soft, but pretty high pitched whining type noise, he almost sounds upset, now this is only if im still awake, i simply cant go to bed that early though, so im forced to listen to him make noises. Hes been doing this for about 5 days now, why??? any help is much appreciated!

Mine does it to once in awhile; I think it's because they're having like a nightmare or a dream. I'm used to sleeptalking animals, because my dog does it so often.

They naturally want to make noise at bed time. It's completely normal and part of who they are :)

Thank you for all the great responses! im sure im just being an overly concerned friend to my bird, but still i cant help but feel that hes upset or something, it just kinda sounds that way to me, plus like if i make too much noise after the noise stopped, he will start doing it again, so im not sure what it is, but i sure hope hes happy!
