I'm thinking about bringing home a Hahn's Macaw. Not any time soon probably, right now it's just a thought. I love Macs (I will have a large Macaw one day!) but I also want my Cockatiel to have a buddy. Do you think that a cockatiel and a Hahn's Macaw could do well together, if I brought the Mac home as a baby? They would not be in the same cage.

Anytime when you mid different species together there's always a risk due to their beak and size difference. Not saying they won't get along but there's always that risk.

I personally wouldn't risk it.
That beak difference I'm not sure you could intervene quickly enough before a toe or beak or other part is irreparably damaged.

I personally won't risk it either. That's how you see damaged beaks, missing toes, etc. My neighbor have a Cockatiel with her beak damaged like that and I have to trim her beak for them often.

I have a grey and a gcc. I don't allow them to play together at all, but they do love chattering together from different sides of the room.
