Introducing ringneck & conure

Hey friends, I'm new here. I have a male green cheek conure, he's a rescue so I'm not 100% sure how old he is. But I think he's around 2 years old. I've had him for about 5 months and he's very sweet. He's very energetic and loves running around. However he's pretty confrontational and nippy. I got an Indian ringneck about a week ago. She's verrrry relaxed and sweet. She's 3 years old.

Anyways, I have their cages next to each other and they don't seem stressed, just a bit interested in each other. They eat at the same time and preen at the same time. I'm wondering what would be a good time to introduce them outside the cages? Whenever I'm home I always have one of the birds out but it would be great if they could coexist. I'm very nervous about it since my green cheek is pretty small and defenseless, and the ringneck has clipped wings so she's not very confident. Is it just safer to not introduce them outside the cage?
