Hi all. I'm starting my seeds for my vegetable garden. I wanted to know if anyone knows what kinds of fertilizer I can use for both seeds and the garden. My Parrots will be eating these vegetables once grown.

1. I want to know if it's safe for my Parrots to eat if I put Miracle Grow in my seeds.
2. If it's safe for my Parrots to eat the vegetables once they're grown if I use cow manure in my garden?
3. Is there a better natural fertilizer I can use for my seeds rather than Miracle Grow?
Thank you!

I moved your thread over to 'Questions & Answers' since it's a more appropriate fit for it. :)

If you are sprouting your own seeds, I wouldn't use any fertilizer until well after the seeds have germinated. Of course you can work composted manure under the soil now, but don't apply any other 'fertilizer'.

Are you starting the seeds indoors or are you sowing directly into outdoor flower beds?

Once your seedlings have germinated and are well developed you can certainly use Miracle Grow, even though IMHO there are better fertilizers for vegetables out there. Here is an example: Espoma Organic Garden-tone | Espoma

Yes, your fids can eat your home grown veggies, just don't spray any insecticides on your plants. :)

Thank you JerseyWendy!! I'm starting my seeds indoors. I usually only grow for my family but this year instead of spending so much money on organics I thought I'd expand it and include my flock while planning my garden.

I was going to add in my original post that I wasn't going to use pesticides but forgot.
:)
Thank you again!! :)
