My conures sometimes lie down together. I think young birds do it sometimes

Baby greys can be very clumsy. I have seen them sleep lying down like that before, especially after a good beak stuffing, or "exhausting" cuddle session. Don't worry...by the time he's 2 years old, he will be very dignified, and opening an eye to watch you without even taking his beak from under his wing.
There is no such thing as being over concerned and dont let anybody or any vet ever tell you that!
Being observant of everything makes you a good owner and then asking about it -no matter how silly it might seem - makes you an excellent owner.
