Urgent Identification Help Needed

Hi All,

I have signed up to the forums because I need help with identifying a parrot. He/She was found in a garden about 2 months ago and was given to my local Parrot breeder as no one came forward to claim him/her

It urgently requires re-homing and we are willing to do it, but we won't be able to unless we are sure of an exact species, otherwise we won't know the appropriate diet and care. The breeder he has been left with specialises in Australian Parrots ONLY, so they don't know what it is.

From the shape of the beak and the face, I'm thinking Monk (Quaker) Parrot, but I have not found any with this color plumage.

I would be super grateful if anyone can identify the species, and if it is of a particular "Variety"

I clicked on this thread, CONFIDENT I'd identify the bird on sight, but... nope! Never saw one like it.
I'm doing a bit of Googling. Lots of brainiacs here... maybe one of them will know!

United Kingdom. He IS rung but seems skittish and shy, possibly an aviary bird? Does seem to have a curios personality and was attempting some sort of display when I saw him/her today, such as bobbing the head rapidly and making heart shaped wings.

He's beautiful! looks a lot like a Quaker/monk parrot, the color threw me off at first but there is such a thing as grey and white quakers, Good Luck!

He/she looks like "he" could be a silver or grey cinnamon mutation Quaker "Monk" Parrot. I've only ever seen 1 and it looked like that one. We don't get many (if any) of that colour in Australia.

I'm pretty sure it's a Quaker Parakeet!
Oddly colored, but I can't imagine it being anything else!

Beautiful bird! He or she appears to be a cinnamon grey mutation monk parakeet. Breeders are still working on this mutation, it is unusual to see. Quakers are escape artists, it could have escaped from an aviary or could be an escaped pet. The unusual mutations are usually much higher priced.

He looks like a Quaker parrot like everyone else said. I think he is either a white or cobalt mutation. He sure is beautiful though. Welcome to the forum, enjoy your time. :)

Beak looks like a quaker to me also. Never seen anything like him though! So pretty. His voice would help identify him.
