Two green cheek conures
Doing my weekly cleaning of Linus's cage, I found a spot with overlapping perches and I hadn't noticed he has been pooping all over the lower perches. How can I clean this so that it is all removed and sanitary?

I usually soak the perch in water for a few minutes and scrub it with paper towels. Works just fine.

There are some bird cleaning products that are great at disolving poop. One that is widely available (at least in the US) is Poop Off. It has quite a smell to it, which is a drawback. There must be others out there that are widely available. I use a similar product that is a disinfectant/poop remover in one. Omar's EnviroClean. It is manufactured and only distributed locally though I believe. Sometimes I have to let it sit a couple minutes, but is amazing.

You can put them in the dish washer with no soap,, does a good job.

I just use a diluted vinegar based cleaner, and a little bristled scrubby.

I'm in the diluted vinegar solution plus steam cleaner group. I always spray anything I clean with the vinegar solution, then go over it again with my McCulloch steam cleaner. That way I never have to worry about overly powerful scents (Julie is Right - PoopOff is just downright nasty to me). I have used AviClean in the past and adore it, but I find it expensive to buy as I have to always order it online and have it shipped.

To spot clean anything outside (or sometimes inside) the cage, I use hypoallergenic baby wipes that are 90% water.

Aviclean is great. I had someone give me a bottle of it, and it really does work incredibly well, and I don't remember it having much if any odor. Definitely works amazingly though.
