Is Aluminum mesh safe?

I found aluminum mesh that is usually used for screen doors. Could I use this to protect walls from beaks during play time? My Conures rub on everything and they scratched the pain in one area. I don't want them being sick. I thought about a sheet but they chew on fabrics :/

I've heard aluminum is safe but never heard about the mesh. It's too small for them to climb on which is the point, less damage :D

Any idea if it's safe?

I think it is OK
Birds rub their beaks on walls for a reason. They are denied their natural habitat by being with us in our homes but they still have their natural needs and behaviours and one of those is to rub their beaks on walls etc to try and keep them clean and trim. What can they use if you take this option away?

Most emulsion paint on walls (plaster) is water based so shouldn't be detrimental. Plum uses the walls to give his beak a good old rub fairly often, really gets into it and gives it some.

Good to know about wall paints, Perjo tries to do this when she's near a wall, I usully prevent her not knowing if the paint was OK. My home is all water based Sherwin Williams.

You'd think with all the different perches and toys they'd leave my walls be. Ha-ha. My Jenday, Kellan, likes to tap on the walls :) thinks he's funny.

They have rope, wood, and those sand perches. I think they just like my red wall paint :)

Sissy won't leave the arms of the couch alone...if there's a string fraid..she becomes o.c.d. And has to pick it. Believe when I say she has stuff to pick at lol.

I hung one of those acrylic sheets behind the cage with command strips. Smooth enough that you can wipe it off, but just out of beak range.
