As you know I work in a pet shop and everyone who comes in and wants a bird immediately asks if we have any cockatoos or macaws available and of course we do. I always ask about their bird experience and one lady said she wants an umbrella cockatoo for her 9 year old son I quickly and quietly explained how much work was involved with a too and she walked out with a cockatiel and I gave her my schedule if she needed to ask me questions. I'm not sure how much longer I can work here it's killing me to see all these big complex birds going to homes that can't properly care for them. Why is it that all these big birds are so readily avalible but very few people can actually manage to take care of them it is really upsetting.
