How often are you suppose to bathe a parrot? I was watching a video last night about basic budgie care and the person in the video said to leave a bird bath in the cage every day. I feel every single day is a little much... but I could be wrong, what do you guys say?

My bigger birds get baths twice or three times a week, my budgies, finches, parrotlets and lovies have a bath in their cage every day so they can take a bath when they want to. I figure they have it if they want to use it, and can skip it if they aren't in the mood. The smaller ones don't seem to enjoy a misting and prefer doing it themselves. I don't think they need a bath every day, but leave it up to them:)

My Conure takes a bath whenever. I leave a bath in his cage. If I see him take a bath or if the water looks dirty I change it. Otherwise it gets changed twice a day as well as the drinking water. I repeat both are changed twice a day minimum.

Littles birds often bathe in their water dish, do giving them a bath bowl saves you the headache of changing water every hour! You can get bath attachments that clip on cage or just place a small flat round crock type bowl in bottom of cage, try not to put under a poop spot from perches above!

Daily bathing is actually good for them and for you too as it rids excess dust. It also keeps them clean and pretty feathers to show off.

Two cockatiels and a Green Cheek Conure.
My cockatiels don't like bathing. So I mist them regularly which is easily done in their cage outside in the Summer, but when it's cold, I do it in the house, which means that everything around the cage, especially the window, gets soaking wet!
Mango, the GCC, loves to bath in the sink. She will ask for it by moving down on my arm when I am cleaning up after preparing their food. She loves to move around in the sink while it is filling up under a light spinkle. Once she's had enough she lets me know and crawls right back on my hand and shakes, and shakes, until I cannot see through my glasses LOL.

Depends on how domestic I'm feeling. Henry bathes in his drinking water every single time I hoover, but never when I don't, and never in anything else. Regular mistings don't stop it.

2 of my cockatiels like taking a bath in a shallow bowl. They let me know when they want to by hanging out by the kitchen sink/cutting board(usual location for a bath).
the other cockatiels get a mist bath when they start flinging water around from the water cups.
Amazons.
If I notice any of them are a bit stinky they get a shower(with me for Bingo and Pacho).IF there feathers look dull and unkempt the get a shower.
African grey.
Still working that out.
Short answer is I leave it up to the bird for the most part and even if I think it's needed I don't force it on a bird that does not want it.

My JoJo, every 3/4 days in a large dog dish, on the counter. He takes a good 5 minute soak!
I do not believe in letting them bathe in their cage, to avoid rusting!
