what are others spoiling their Parrots with?
I have not tried much, a piece of pizza crust, chicken, cheese corn. they all seemed to like these items. now Sammy The U2 craves and lives for a taste of cheese but none of the others will eat it. it got to where when he is out of his cage the cheese has to stay in the fridge. he will fly over and land on the counter and I just can't have them in the kitchen to many hazards there and I live in a wide open layout. one day Maxx was out and I was by the stove and here he comes he hit the oven door slid down and got his head caught between the handle and the door, good thing I was right there to get him he could have very easily broke his neck. so now that handle has towels wrapped around it and it could not happen again. who ever said these guys are just like 2 yr olds was very correct, you have to do just as much bird proofing as you do for a child.

An ideal diet for most birds is actually fresh fruit and veg, which many of us do. It's practically a requisite for ekkies! So the answer to your question is many of us on a daily basis spoil our babies with human food :)

Here is a batch of food I made for my little man just two days ago

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
With giving so called 'human' food at mealtimes you reap what you sow!

If you don't want them to be a pain when you are eating don't give them it. If they don't know it, they don't recognise it and therefore don't ask (from experience).

A little cheese now and again and a piece of chicken is Ok but Pizza crust really isn't needed, therefore not necessary.

Plum had been given our food by previous owner and therefore looks out for things he likes. My friends RB2 who stays over is not given anything, he doesn't bother at all and goes to eat his own food with us.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
I give my birds a very limited number of people foods.

First on the list is cooked unsweetened oatmeal. Sometimes I mix in a bit of oat bran or malt-o-meal. They absolutely LOVE it, generally twice per week.

For treats, Cheerios are fairly harmless as the ingredients are simple with low sugar. I'm talking about maybe half a dozen per week. A decent alternative to nuts.

They love small pieces of dense whole-grain bread. I'm talking about bread where the first ingredient is whole-grain flour, not the crap that is as light as a feather and has the good stuff listed as number 8 or 9 on the list! However, I am starting to bake "birdie bread" and phasing out the store-bought stuff.

I don't ever feed processed foods, or items clogged with the trifecta of oil, salt, and sugar.

Romeo's owner let him eat off her plate actually.

So now I have to make sure he has a treat or two on his play stand while I eat or else I'm subject to his screaming relentlessly to get food. And since we're doing the "ignore the bird while he screams" thing it's kind of horrible.

Be careful teaching your bird that "people food" is for them. In this case "people food" is the food that's on my plate. It might be perfectly suitable for the birds but it's MINE. They might even get some but never from my plate. And only ever after I'm done eating my share. I just don't want them thinking my plate is for them. Ever.

Very good points! They need to understand food bowls/plates are highly personalized. Otherwise they will believe "what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine!" Bacteria transmission is another reason birds should not eat from our plates.

when my sun conure is out he bugs the heck out of me if I'm doing anything food related.
was just mashing a sweet tater and mixing up a veggie snack and he landed on the rim of my iced tea took a swallow and shook it off,so while I'm dumping the tea I turn around and here he is in the goods already.
