I need to get some sort of travel cage for my BFA that is a decent size so he can live in for a few days without problems. I would love some suggestions. I have seen a couple but they seem way too small for him. I found this one, but not sure its sturdy enough.

I would appreciate any thoughts anyone has on this one, or suggestions of others.

Also, would it be ok to use this cage as a sleeping cage as well as a travel cage? Its hard to get him enough sleep in his main cage so considering having him sleep in another room and was hoping he could share the same cage for both!

TIA for any thoughts you have on this! I am loving this site and all the smart bird people! I am learning so much!

None. My wife has one too many. Kidding!
I have no input but I know there have been threads on this. Maybe use the SEARCH tab to look, while you are awaiting replies? Good luck to you.

1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
You had the other thread about the bak-o-bird. Perfect for taking on overnight trips (if it'll be a few days, you'll likely want a small portable play stand too)!

Our BFA doesn't have a "sleep cage". He is "free roaming" during the day (not appropriate for all birds), but at bedtime, he'll go back in his cage, close the door behind himself (theres a little breeder door on the side he uses) and wait for us to put his cage cover on. He lives in the living room, which while we aren't exceptionally loud after he's in bed, we may have a show on or be talking, there's lights on, movement etc... He does fine, never an issue falling right asleep. He might do a "ruffle" of the feathers if something disturbs him, but right back to sleep. The way I see it- the jungle isn't quiet at night, nor completely dark (the moon can be pretty bright), so he'll be fine (and he is!). No idea his sleeping arrangement before we adopted him, but from the first night on with us, he sleeps in his cage with a cover. I don't remember it taking too long for him to adjust to it, but it was an adjustment at first until he got into the routine of his new home then smooth sailing with bedtime ever since (that was 8 years ago. How time flies!).

Thank you Kiwibird. Those were exactly my concerns. I live in a small apt and his cage is in the middle of everything, so I was concerned about him getting enough rest. But what you said makes so much sense! I will quit worrying about it.

I think I will just get the cage I linked above for travel. My moms house has two dogs and a cat, so just a perch wont work. (although I think Fidget could take them all on and win!) but I'm not one to tempt fate!

Thanks for the helpful information!

I have one like that. Have not used it yet.
Its a quality piece of merchandise.
If you try you may be able to get it a bit cheaper.
Mine was free shipping with Amazon Prime.
