OK, I am getting mixed signals from my Amazon.
He will do the regurgitating thing which I know is a sign of affection but will also fan his tail out at the same time which I read was a sign of aggression or fear. He also will fan his tail when playing hide and seek or even by himself. I assume tipping the head straight back so it touches his back is playful behavior but he fans his tail when doing that too. A little background, he is 2 yrs old and we just got him a couple months ago or so. He will not step up yet but will eat from our hands no problem. He has never bitten and has not been aggressive. He loves attention.
Thanks in advance.

Amazons will fan tail, tip head back, dilate pupils when they are having fun or playing, as well as when they are angry. It's a sign of excitment. That excitment may be due to agitation, aggression, or simply fun!

Thank you. Everything I read said that fanning the tail was aggression or fear only but I had my doubts and you cofirmed this for me.
