Perjo - Female CAG hatch Nov 2015
My Perjo is still not talking (16mos) no big deal I love her all the same, she does seem to be trying to say hello and what, since I say those to her the most I guess.

But meanwhile we have built a very neat little language using different whistles. It's not always easy as most of us know to catch all on this on video, but we have about a 6-8 word vocabularly based on specific whistles. Phrases like Come here, Thank you, Where are you, Time for lunch and Do you feel better are the most common.

Anyone else create a unique way of communicating with your non talking fids?

That... is... BEAUTIFUL.

You two are beautiful, and you have created a personal, unique, intimate language for just the two of you.

I am so touched. It's NOT all about regular old words, is it??????
Thank you for sharing this. I hope any non-talking bird parronts will resonate!

I gotta say it again.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
Salty's a talker 'Hi daddy, Hi Geri, Hi erik, Hello, is it BIRD, WHAT CA doing' and others, but he also has specific squacks, and yes, screams, for things like 'where's dinner, where are you, I'm excited, and several laughs, one of which means I am Evil, sadistic, a bad boy. He also does explosions , as in wheeeeeeeeee BOOOM.
