Very young Parrot; too hope that they understand where to and where not to poop - it's a bit too early. The problem with a harness /diaper combination for a young parrot is that it needs to be change /cleaned often. Older Parrots will tend to hold the movement until the harness /diaper is removed. Also, older Parrots tend to have a fairly consistent time line to their eating and their movement.

IMHO - way too young to attempt to this kind of poop control. You would be much better off watching for any time line between movements. By this time, they are beginning to develop a movement schedule. It is something that you need to learn.

As with nearly everything else that concerns interaction with Parrots, this will help greatly in understand and correcting your Actions! It is NEVER the fault of the Parrot! It is ALWAYS the fault of the Human! View near everything from this vantage point and you will quickly find out what you are doing wrong and correct it.

Enjoy!

I agree with Sailboat, 2 months is way too young for a flight suit for a number of reasons, first being you will be emptying and changing that thing every 10 minutes and if you don't he will just dump it all over your house as it fills up. Also, if you buy a flight suit for a 2 month old baby Caique or Meyers parrot (I couldn't tell which you were looking for) you'll need a smaller flight suit now, then a month or so from now you'll need a larger one. But the best reason not to get a flight suit right now is that a 2 month old baby bird will not understand why he is wearing it and what he is supposed to be doing or not doing.

Is your bird even weaned or fully fledged yet? If not then that's a big no no as far as the flight suit, but once your bird can fly, or if he can already fly, here's what you do: You need to potty train him. It's very easy to do if you start as soon as your baby is weaned and fledged. You need to find a solid food that he absolutely loves to be his training treat, and you can only give him this treat when you are rewarding him for doing what you've asked him or trained him to do, never give it to him any other time or it won't work. Then you need to designate a spot for him to go potty. I put a play stand on top of clean newspaper every morning for my Senegal parrot to go on, and that's his potty spot. He doesn't poop anywhere else but on his stand, not even in his cage. I started out by watching him and figuring out about how often he was pooping (he was 12 weeks old, your 2 month old bird may not have enough frequency yet). He was pooping every half hour to 45 minutes. So first thing in the morning I got him straight out of his cage and placed him on his poop stand. He would do this first morning poop pretty quickly, so as soon as I put him on the poop stand I would say "Poop" and just wait, I'd say it once every 30 seconds or so first thing in the morning because I knew it was going to happen quickly. As soon as he pooped I said "Good poop Kane, Good poop", I gave him his pine nut, and then immediately moved him from his poop stand back to his cage. Then I fed him his breakfast. About 30-45 minutes later I put him back on his poop stand and said "poop", and this is where you need some patience because it can happen right away or it can take awhile. The smaller the bird the more often they poop, so smaller birds are easier to judge for training purposes, but it was still pretty easy. I would say "poop" every 30 seconds or so, sometimes he would fly off the stand, I'd say "No", go get him, and put him back on his poop stand and again say "poop" until he did it, then I'd say "Good poop Kane" and give him a pine nut...I did this every 30 minutes, and honestly after a Saturday and Sunday of doing this, plus first thing every morning and every time I would come home the first thing I did was to get him out and tell him to poop, and seriously in about a week I would get up in the morning, open his cage up and get him out on my finger, and he started flying to his poop stand on his own. The first time he did it I was so happy, he flew into the stand on his own, I heard the poop hit the paper, and he got his pine nut. Then I'd be watching TV with him on my shoulder and suddenly he would fly off and go to his stand to poop, then come back...It was amazing!
