My green cheek conure bites but it has been getting better (had him for 10 months) I've been wanting to get a parakeet or some other small bird but I'm afraid that my conure would bite it. Should I just wait for him to stop biteing then get the new bird or should I just get the bird?

don't get another bird yet. You've only had your conure for 10 months and he doesn't appear to be fully trained yet. You need to question if you can give enough attention to your current bird and enough for the new one too. Always assume the worst case scenario so in this case assume they will hate each other and want to kill each other.

You haven't even gone through hormones yet which is when most birds get put into rescues so wait until you've gone through that, should happen within a year from now.

Honestly I think it would be better to try focusing more on your current conure and get them to a point where they're a well behaved friendly bird. Only then if you want and can care for a new bird should you get one. If you do decide to get a new bird at any time remember you need a 30 day quarantine from your current bird and should have a second cage for the new bird instead of throwing them in your conure's cage. That's a fast ticket to a fight
