Is keeping a pet mouse in the same room as my birds safe?

My sister recently gave up her pet mouse Mamushka.
When I bring him home he won't come into actual contact with my birds but I'm still worried.

Will he keep my birds up at night? I know mice are nocturnal so its a definite he'll be scurrying around at night. But will the noise keep my birds up.

Will his smell bother/hurt them? I have an air purifier in my room but I have no clue if that will be enough.

Are there any health concerns for the sharing the same air? I know this is a rehash of the previous question but I feel its necessary to ask this as well.

I want to take him to the vet before I let him in my room. If I have to keep Mamushka in a separate room that is 100% doable. Thanks in advance

I would think there would be plenty of room, if you were to house both in one room. Your parrot might get stepped on,, but hey your parrot hight actually decide to perch on his antlers .

Edit: Oops - mouse, not moose.

If it's a mouse from a pet store it will be fine, NOT ONE YOU FOUND IN YOUR KITCHEN!

I wouldn't worry about it, I don't know about putting them together, the mouse might bite the parrots foot...then again the quaker parrot....might just kill the mouse with one bite if you put them together.....we are talking about a little feeder mouse right?

Assuming this was a mouse bred to be a pet (i.e. low risk of carrying disease/parasites), there is no reason they can't be in the same room as your bird. I think taking the mouse to the vet to verify he's healthy is an excellent idea. Remember, in nature, parrots live around a wide variety of animals, rodents included. If they needed complete silence to sleep living in the jungle, they'd all be insomniacs! It's why I don't bother putting my bird in a special sleep cage or in another room at night- the jungle isn't silent or pitch black at night either. So long as you don't have a marching band or a college frat party going on in the room, they'll adapt to minimal background noise and sleep just fine

I had a guinea pig (RIP Carrot) in my birdroom when I had just Ducky and Bluebell. Since a guinea pig is much larger and noisier (they make ‘wheek’ sounds), I’m sure a tiny little mouse would be fine in the same room as your birds. Taking the mouse to the vet would be a great idea to avoid spreading any diseases.
