my grey is biting the other when it tries to get food
this is new behavior ...could it be bc of hormones?

im clueless here ... im still still learning these guys and gals ..
and im learning about birds as well
since my mom get them from an auction and didnt ask anything about
their history ... idk what to do ....

we need more information.
what is "other"?
do you mean you have 2 CAG's?

do you mean "other" as in Other humans in the house?

how long have you had them?
how are they caged" in one cage? separately?

This is just me and my way of operating.

For every bird you have in a cage have at least one food bowl.

if 2 birds in one cage you need to have 2 food dishes.

This is how I deal with my Cockatiels. I have one cage with 4 cockatiels. So I have 4 food dishes in cage.

When I feed them I make sure I put the exact same thing in each food dish. Sometimes squabbles still occur but when it does on bird will just move on to a different dish.

If this does not work you may have to house them in separate cages.

Maybe it would be wise to get a second cage and have each in their own cage, so they can eat, play and sleep in both safety and comfort. They can sit side by side but both should eat when they want to, an abusive/aggressive pair should be kept side by side so one isn't bullied.

I think all 8 of your Parrots will need their own big cage. Did they live together before? How many cages do you have? How are they all situated?

sorry about that ...this is my first time in a forum ....everyone is safe and sound in their own cages....except the 2 greys ..Dudley and screaming mimi are together ..we put them together a couple weeks ago.. had duds for about 5 months and mimi a month ..(im pretty sure she was a breeder bird) thats all i know .. .i dont know hardly anything of their history... and im not sure if i can find anything out ..altho i desperately want to ..... and he is just starting this behavior .. we had 2 cups on the side for their food and added a 3rd but Dudley keeps dumping it over

Yipes! Safety first as we figure all this out! Please separate the two... there could be serious injury, as well as under-eating/dehydration in the one being attacked.

It sounds like a territorial problem. Split them up into seperate cages as said above. Is duds a male? and are you intending to breed them if so? X

dudley aka duds is male and mimi female my mom wants them to breed i dont really care i just want them safe and happy...they have been in the same cage for about a month this is just starting ..i have cages thats not a problem if i need to move them ..i was concerned bc i dont want to see anyone get hurt ... im having trouble with my mom getting these animals and not asking anything about them ... .. i was wondering if it could be hormonal we are in texas and it was 90s yesterday and 60s today

they were both put into a new cage ... a huge corner cage... and i was wrong about how long they been in that cage ... they havent been together for but maybe 2 to 3 weeks

when i say this just started i mean it happened today ....but .. last night i heard her squawk and ran out there and duds was hanging upside down and right in her face..... firsttime he acted this way with her....

Without knowing their history, ages or really any background at all it is hard to say what is happening. Depending on where you live, it is that time of year that birds get more aggressive/territorial and feel the urge to breed....HOWEVER breeding should not be attempted by those who have never done it before, so much can and will go wrong, for instance the male could end up killing the female from aggression. They may not breed properly and therefor never have eggs. The eggs may get crushed, cracked or possibly both parents may not understand how to incubate. Babies may get abandoned, neglected or crushed. Babies will not be tame unless you pull them from the nest and hand-feed them, it's what breeders do but again this is so so tricky to get right, handfeeding incorrectly can end up choking baby with formula and killing baby.

Please don't let them breed.

To keep him from injuring her or causing more harm, I still avise you to separate them for the time-being. Just so the aggression can pass and so there are no chances of breeding, when they have eggs they get even more aggressive.

#1 grays are not easy to breed.
#2 if you are in a forum asking the questions you are, you should leave the breeding to the pros,and get them is seperate cages till you do some studying on what you must think is an easy thing to do.
sorry bout sounding hard but you dont sound like you know what you are doing,or getting into.
#3 you just cant throw 2 grays together and think they will breed, or even get along.
hell my birds dont even like me putting my hands into their houses, i wonder how the one gray felt as you forced another in his house.

ya got to remember these fella's have very touchy feeling's and just to build a good trust between parrot and keeper could take years.
i would say with some of the info you have posted your birds are more then likely very unsettled maybe that is why one is called screaming mimi.
use some common since and get them split up
