I got these seeds/peas and stuff but I'm not sure how to prepare them. Do I sprout them, boil/cook them, or feed them raw?

- Amaranth
- Green Split Peas
- Hulled Barley
- Hulled Oats
- Chickpeas

They're all organic and untreated, without added salts. I'm new to sprouting and cooking.

So how long should I sprout each one of them? Which ones can I feed raw? How do I cook them?

It's awesome you're wanting to get these healthy fresh foods in your birds diet! His long term health will benefit greatly from eating beans, grains and produce every day:) The chickpeas, like any bean, will need to soak overnight, then drained and rinsed before boiling for 10 minutes then simmering until soft. If you don't prep beans right, they can give you and your bird an upset stomach. The grains should be rinsed then combined with water (1:1.5 ratio) in a heavy bottom saucepan and brought to a boil. Then reduce to a low simmer, cover and let cook until soft.

I'd say, you probably want to learn to cook these items before learning to sprout since you're a beginner at both. Sprouting is time consuming and requires either some DIY equipment or pricey sporting equipment you can buy online or in health food stores. It also requires daily tending (unless you have one of the fancy sprouters) and several days before you can feed a batch. It's similar to gardening (it effectively is indoor gardening) and kind of a PITA to be honest.
