mini kong dog toy

Do you think it would be safe for a parrot to play with one of these as a foraging toy? I have a mini one that we had for when my dog was a puppy but now it's way too small for her. I would of course thoroughly clean it to get rid of any bacteria.

This is what I'm talking about:

Re: mini kong dog toy

I've never heard of a problem with them. If pieces get chewed off, make sure you see them in the bottom of the cage, and not in droppings! These things can be hard to clean, but you sound like a conscientious person.

Good for you for asking! Let's see if anybody else has thoughts.

Good luck!

Re: mini kong dog toy

I just saw a mini size dog Kong at the bird store! It was in the bin with the young cockatiels. I’ve heard of them used as bird toys before. Of course you know as long as the dog saliva is off.
