Are heat fans bad for birds?

Hey guys, i've asked earlier if electric heaters were bad for birds and most everyone said that they were(except for oil heaters or something like that)

I'm wondering if Heat fans are bad for birds. I'm not even sure if they're called that. It's basically just a fan and like 4 springs in the front that heat up and get blown into the room.

I don't have the money to buy an electric heater that's bird safe but our room is in the basement and it's getting cold downstairs. I'm covering the birds at night and i think they're fine cuz they both have cozy corners and tents, but now i'm starting to get really cold. In case you don't know what i'm talking about i'm gonna post pictures here. Thanks for any answers.

If you have the name of the manufacturer I would give them a call to be sure there is no teflon inside the fan. If you lived near Md. I would give you a very nice bird safe heater for free because my new place is so warm.

It's an older heater, maybe if there is any teflon it would already be burned up. I'll try calling them though…..

Mrspy, the problem with those type of fans is, parrots fly. Sometimes unpredictably. Assuming there is no teflon in it, it must still pass this final test. If you can not place your hand on it, and leave it there, I wouldn't put it anywhere a parrot could get. Parrots have a silly habit of getting stuck in places, usually out of fear. They always seem to grab on harder when they should let go, and vice-versa.

Still, if you could put it inside another cage, all by itself, where nothing could get to touch it, and it can't fall over...that might be an idea.

Oh i wouldn't be putting it in the birds cages.............

Thanks for the help but I jut figured out the whole problem. I've take the fan out because I just found out that I have an Oil filled Radiator and i'm using that now.
