Indian Ringneck
So Iā€™m a volunteer, I usually take care of dogs and cats but Iā€™ve rescued an Indian Ringneck about 3 weeks ago. Iā€™m not familiar with parrots/birds at all if Iā€™m being fair but I do love her lots and try my best/put a lot of effort into her

Anyways, her wings are clipped even though that wasnā€™t my choice, unfortunately they were clipped when I rescued her (not saying wing clpping is necessary a bad thing, it just ainā€™t for me)

Her cage is usually open and she loves to simply sit on top of it, chilling. Now the thing is; she poops a lot (surprise, itā€™s a bird), she always moves to the edge of her cage and decides to poop on the carpet.

Not really a big deal, but how do you guys usually clean it? Do you let it dry or clean it straight away? What do you use and whatā€™s the best way?

I usually let it dry and then clean it, it is easier. I just use cleaning wipes, in the package it says that they are good to clean everything... for the moment everything leaves.
Apart of that, if she poops always at the same spot I would just put something on that spot.

Newspaper! Place it around the bottom of the cage frame on the floor. You will find that you will quickly develop friendships with individuals that get the local newspaper. Most enjoy providing their newspapers for your use as they see it as a form of recycling.

It is also a great product to place in the bottom of the cage!

I noticed itā€™s a bit easier to clean it while dry as well! Thanks, will try

I have lining for the bottom of her cage, and unfortunately it isnā€™t only around the cage, she also likes walking around sometimes and randomly poops on other places too

I donā€™t let my boy free over carpet. If Iā€™m in a carpeted location Iā€™ll make sure to have him on a portable stand with a poop tray.

On hardwood Iā€™ll put newspaper all around the cage.
