Exclamation My GCC is biting my hair and breaking it!

It has only started 2 days ago when my GCC (green cheek conure) started biting my hair. I wasn't concerned at first because it usually sits on my head while nibbling on hair. But this time, I could hear the chewing/grinding. When I checked, I saw that it had broke my hair and several strands of hair were everywhere. I am really worried, please help

I sympathise but the simple answer is to ban head time before you are bald. I hate Syd in my hair so when he lands there I just reach up and 'help' him down. He objected a bit to start with but soon got the message and now waits for my hand to arrive and he hops on happily for the ride to civilisation.

Re: My GCC is biting my hair and breaking it!

Seems Avocado enjoys grooming you! We generally recommend head/shoulder privileges are earned because of potential for great biting damage. In this case it is more an irritant, so perhaps restricting access for a while may prove helpful.
