So I'm reading about this particular behavior and I'm seeing several theories. I got my young(10weeks old) Pionus for about 3 weeks now, he's young and tame and is still weening twice a day.

Almost any time I interact with him he does the head bobbing while making the baby sound(I think that's what it is). Similar to what he does when he wants to be fed but it's different. Constantly throughout the day, it's cute but I'm wondering why.

It's said that this is likely a positive thing that they do to people they trust. He does it with my parents as well, though not as much to my brother who he hasn't seen much yet. I haven't introduced him to strangers yet but probably will soon. Anyway, any answers would be appriciated.

I've only ever read that it's how baby birds beg for food, and sometimes attention.

So he's happy and excited every time I'm with him..That's sweet:D

I managed to make this video where you can see it, this is the sound and bobbing he always does and right after this video he regurgitated some food..for me I guess lol. Isn't that the biggest sign of affection when parrots do that for their owners?
