Iā€™m wondering if anyone uses a home pet cam to monitor their parrots from like an iPhone while their at work, or out and about running errands? Any suggestions, or feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank You.

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
I used to just set up my laptop (using the camera) and do a private livestream to youtube (email myself the link). You can then watch it from your phone in real-time if you have a smartphone.

To clarify my question, Iā€™m researching the purchase and use of a camera indoor for use with my iPhone. Of course weā€™re all familiar with the fake/paid reviews out there and especially on Amazon, so Iā€™m asking for someone with personal knowledge, ease of setup, a cam thatā€™s not crashing daily, any issues with hackers because Iā€™ve read those frightening reviews as well, which camā€™s do you use, ease of setup, reliability are my main concerns if anyone has used them with good/bad results please..... I would hate to be at work and someone hack into my camera coaching my Zoey into killing herself...... the reviews at Amazon were frightening, so any and all feedback from owning one, and its reliability are highly sought out.... Thank You.

You buy anywhere, Home Depot.... ect.. Just connect to your phone with that bar code, and you are good to go.

The camera I have is the mydlink HD Wi-Fi Camera DCS 8010LH.
It was fairly easy to set up, just connecting to the app via wi fi. I've only had outages for it about one or twice since getting it like 2 months ago. The camera does get fairly hot so I disconnect it when I'm not using it. The main feature I like about it is the night vision, which I use because it's a camera meant for viewing Luna's night cage. I've heard the things about hackers but frankly, there isn't very much you can do if you also want to have an app to view on iphone. The camera doesn't have a mic though so they can't talk to Zoey. The one thing I will say is that sometimes I wish I could rotate the camera and the cord is not very long.

Another item I want to consider both with the Nest and the DLink, or any other camera possibilities is the fact some companies (learned from reviews) charge a monthly subscription. You pay for the camera initially, then in 30-60 days the company also charges a monthly subscription for its use. Do you have this issue with either the DLink or the Nest?

Nope! I just signed an account up on their app and I was ready to go. I shared the account info with my husband too so we both can access the same camera from two different phones.

I use Zmodo cameras. No subscription. Inexpensive.
