Should I clean a new cage?

We are finally moving into our new home with only a few more weeks before our Māui gets to come home!
I wondering if I need to clean the new cage we bought? Of course Iā€™m going to give it a wipe over with water but is that enough or do I have to give it a proper clean with a vinegar/water mix?

Absolutely, do a water/vinegar wash! We have a member that had a nightmare caused by a new cage! It was contaminated with something, possibly from the warehouse or shipping!

Near all cages are manufactured in Asia and shipped around the World in shipping containers. To assure that uninvited guests do not come along for the ride, the cardboard packaging is treated as is the shipping container. It is possible for the container to transit three to twelve weeks prior to arriving at the warehouse where it is unloaded.
As so well stated above, there is good reason to deep clear a new cage. It also provides you an excellent opportunity to full inspect the cage.

After you've cleaned it and set it up, you may find you enjoy rearranging the cage accessories. I like to "play house" and rearrange the "furniture" in my bird's cage.

Thanks a lot everyone! We moved today and despite being surrounded by boxes that need to be unpacked I decided to unbox the bird cage and set that up instead! šŸ˜–

I donā€™t have any F10, so Iā€™ll set it up and spray it down with a vinegar/water mix when the sun finally comes out.

I think Iā€™m going to have heaps of fun rearranging the cage. Iā€™m already having difficulties deciding where to put his corner shelf and perches!
