Since we were carving pumpkins and roasting their seeds, I gave a pumpkin chunk to the birds, and they seemed to like it. The IRN went back for more, and more. Even the budgie nipped at it for a while. Roasted seeds, not so much...
Somebody here posted some really cute images of these small, wild-rice-stuffed (I think...) roasted pumpkins last year...it was for their bird and it was super cute! This reminded me that I have been meaning to try that.
Those are some good carving skills. I gave Jacob some raw pumpkin this year, he didn't care for the taste but loved mulching it, he didn't care for the roasted seeds oddly but he likes roasted winter squash seeds. I made some pumpkin puree to make some cakes, pies and pumpkin brownies but I had so much of it I decided to give Jacob some with a hint of cinnamon and he loved it.
