I ordered some 60 W edison ST58 lights from Hudson Lighting (in warm white) and they look fine, but now I am worried they may contain PTFE/PFOA/PFCs/Teflon and/or sillicone (even though they look totally transparent). I researched and apparently this isn't uncommon...and they do burn hot, as I can feel the heat coming off of them from about inches away.....

I emailed the company---but waiting to hear back. Noodles hated the light bulbs that were in her room, so I though these would seem less strobe-like (the bright LEDS are miserable)...Now I am worried about having an MU broiler chick crisis in my own home...even though these aren't "heat lamps".

Try lower Watt daylight LED bulbs. It is very common for a 60 Watt LED to be brighter than a 60 Watt standard bulb.

Have no experience with an Edison Bulb.
