Hi all.

I have decided after much thought and researching on to buy a new bird after losing my adorable pet cockatiel Pika a few years ago. I have chosen a sun conure as my next birdy, but had a hard time chosing between a sun conure, green cheeked conure and green quaker aswell.

I had a thought of possibly buying a green cheeked or quaker (wouldn't want more then 2 birds in my house at this time), later down the track, as I really can't pick I just love them all! I have played with all 3 and all 3 are so adorably and equally sweet.

I am wondering if it possible to have either a sun conure and a green cheeked conure, or a sun conure and green quaker living happily together? Not in the same cage of course, but next to each other, sharing the same play gym and owner etc. If anyone has these 2 birds as pets I'd love to know how you introduced them, and when it's best to do so. I don't want them to bond with each other... but I don't want them to hate each other either... if this is impossible then I will have to make my final "1 bird only" desicion, but I'd love to know. :)

Thanks a lot.

Green-cheek Conure "Mishka" - Sun conure "Calypso"
Well my Sun and GCC play with each other but never outside my supervision. Neither has entered sexual maturity yet so seem pretty fine with one another, just grooming and chasing around and occasionally having little squabbles, but once they get the hormones raging (after a year or two) I'm going to have to be a bit more cautious. Not all birds become friends, so don't be surprised if they turn out to hate one another. 'Course, they could fall in love and altogether dislike you: another problem that can occur. *shrug*
