Hello everyone,

I am currently searching for cockatoo eggs. I have been doing research on breeders but most are international and likely scams from what Iā€™ve read online. I have an incubator and Iā€™ve raised birds and poultry before. Does anyone know of a legitimate breeder in the US (Preferably Florida) that sells cockatoo eggs ? :yellow1::white1:

There are NONE! Any source that states they have them is 99% likely to be a SCAM! Anyone that has Cockatoo eggs are going to assure they hatch and are fully weaned as there is much greater market value than providing eggs.

Poultry experience is not the same as Parrot eggs. Parrot eggs are far more fragile and very sensitive to temperature variations all of which makes buying eggs a poor choice.

B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
What Mr. Boats said. I breed parrots and poultry. I've hatched shipped poultry eggs before. Parrot eggs are entirely different. Remember parrots and poultry are as closely related as humans and cows are. That is, they are very different and what would be fine for one could easily kill t'other.

I breed cockatiels.

No breeder would EVER sell eggs, they are much too fragile and require specific temperatures to keep from dying. It's too much hassle and breeders stand to make better profit from hatching their own eggs. Breeders just don't sell eggs, period.

There will be advertisements of course but they are ALL total scams.

Interesting! I know the facts and such, but! I do know of something that I would never discuss on the open forum that has me bewildered!

No legitimate breeder will sell eggs, especially cockatoo eggs, better profit from hatching their own eggs. Even if they did likely won't survive as a lot goes into raising a baby from a egg temperature, travel, time, knowledge/experience and equipment needed. I don't even recommend most to buy a baby cockatoo due to hormonal and behavior issues. Best age to buy a cockatoo is at 11 years and older.

What about ostrich eggs? It would be cool to keep one in the living room as a pet.

But man...that cage is gonna cost a fortune.
