Hello,
A friend of mine has this bird, I have searched online trying to figure out what it is, the closest i have come to is a jenday conure, but the colors dont quite match. I'm almost certain that it's a conure hybrid. Can anynoe help please?

It's not jenday conure and any type of conure because they have long tail. It looks like an amazon. I don't know what exactly species. Nothing is simillar to this, I was reading an article about chemically changing colors to get a new "species". It is the most common to do in Mexico so I looked on your location.... and I see you are from there. Also the most common to do it is with amazons... And the shape looks like an amazon. If not amazon, maybe a pionus but I think amazon is the most possible.

So did your friend get this bird not knowing the species?

Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
A deviant Red lored Amazon is my guess. The deviation is much more yellow than normal and also the shade of green is a bit different.

For example - here is a lilac-crowned amazon after coloring

When I was writting an article about RLA's I was reading about their all subspecies. I think no one was changing the beak color so far. The nominate and salvini subspecies have black upper beak black, a lilacine amazon has all black beak. So I think It can't be a red lored amazon

He bought the bird from someone who caught him in the wild as a baby, but now that it has grown it doesnt look like any other parrot we have seen around this area. Thats why we are still wondering what species it is

Catching baby wild bird and selling... it sounds more and more suspicious

Eventually you can try to look for what are local parrots on iNaturalist: https://www.inaturalist.org/observa...lat=14.3895&swlng=-118.6523001&taxon_id=18874
In "species" you can write parrots or amazon and you can choose the location - via writing in "location" or via redo searching in map. Then you can see what parrot observations are near you.
