Which parrot species are the most lively, fun, and full of personality? I've been looking at youtube videos and so far the yellow naped amazon, indian ringneck parrot, and bare-eyed cockatoo fit the description. Are there any others like this?

lol i would say my nut, she is not vocal, but will chase toes, even if it means running on the floor, burrow under blankets to get at them, or just to stop me from having an afternoon nap!

play with spiders, my worse fear is that she will fly a live one onto me!

and i have noticed that when she is plotting something or up to no good, her facial feathers seem to fall in a certain way, especially those over her cheeks??

but i do think she is like this because we give her the freedom, to do what ever she finds entertaining within reason lol and i imagine it would be the same from these other birds :)

Caiques are a bundle of energy!!! Parakeets are full of energy too with a ton of attitude. Quakers, Meyers, Senegals, etc. It just depends on the bird at times, some are more playful then others....

Amazons are full of energy. But some are known to be the easily entertained perch sitters. Also have mood swings. Kinda funny sometimes. But I relate them to a 2 year child. Lol. And sometimes is not any fun at all. I'd suggest a green cheek conure. Or a parrotlets. There tons of energy. And parrotlets are closely related to amazons as well.
Known as the smallest parrot in he world. Id like a pair one day

If you want the best clown and lots of fun consider a Sun Conure. They are crazy fun and good starter birds. For more experienced owners with lots of time for attention and money for proper upkeep and TOYS TOYS TOYS TOYS.....Hummmm did I say TOYS....LOL then the Goffin's Cockatoo is a wonderful companion bird that will keep you entertained for a life time :)

Okay, I have to speak up for the Red-front Macaw. They are uncommon macaws and one of the smaller ones - about 500-600 grams. We were told by our breeder who specializes in RFMs that our Jade has a "text book" RFM personality. She is a clown and a cuddler. She's a diva and isn't afraid to let you know it. She rolls on her back to let you "tickle" her feet. She instigates games of tag with our Ruby. She chases our cat. She also does the trademark Red Front Meltdown - she'll perch on a shoulder the roll forward down your chest onto your lap/into your arms then just lie there on her back while you rub her ear patches.

There are probably more RFMs in captivitiy than there are in the wild, so if you get one, be sure you go to a reputable breeder. Here's a link to our breeder's website. She has great info about RFMs. Next to my Ruby-Bubi, I'd recommend a red-front hands down.
