Hi there! I'm new to the forums, and I hope this isn't a common topic (I searched a couple terms but honestly I'm not sure what phrase would even work).

I currently have 2 budgies that share a cage. Long story short, I am now considering adopting a Mustached Parakeet (Mustached or Mustache? Google was indecisive). First off, let me assure you I am NOT considering keeping the 2 species in a single cage. The parakeet would have its own cage.

But my question is, would living near my budgies provide the parakeet with sufficient social interaction while I'm not around? I work full time, and while I absolutely spend time with my birds when I'm home, I understand that alone might not be enough for a bird like this.

Thanks in advance!

Well, I suppose by the underwhelming response that nobody had any serious objections to this possible adoption...

I met the parakeet on Saturday, and he has a vet appointment today. If he has a clean bill of health, I'm most likely taking him. Any words of wisdom are always appreciated.
