My House of Wings Parrot Rescue has many birds for adoption both big and small. We are in need of good homes with people that have done their research. Experience or a good understanding of parrot behavior and care is definitely a plus. We are in Nanticoke, PA. I am personally fostering a umbrella cockatoo for them named Sydney and she is also up for adoption. Please go to My House of Wings ~ Parrots Rescue Adoption or call 570-735-4316. If no answer leave your name, phone number, AND area code.

Hi Paco - I was having a look-see at your website and I thought I'd post some pertinent information here that you had on it - too bad - I'm in southwestern PA - as far from you as I can get and still be in the Commonwealth lol

Our Primary goal has always been the happiness and well-being of the birds we place. Everything else is secondary. With this in mind, we ve established the following guidelines for adopting.

• We are located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. While we have made a couple of rare exceptions, we try to keep adoptive homes within an hour and a half of our location.
• The prospective adoptee must be knowledgeable about the species of bird they wish to adopt.
• All donor requests must be honored.
• References are required and will be checked.
• All prospective adopters must spend time with the bird at our aviary and demonstrate a bond with the bird they wish to adopt.
• There is a month s probation period during which we reserve the right to cancel the adoption for cause.
• The adopted bird may not be sold.
• The adopted bird may not be transferred to another person. Should another person wish to become the guardian of the bird, that person must go through the same adoptive process.
• All adopters are required to sign a legally binding contract prior to adopting any bird.
• A fee to cover the expenses incurred is charged at the time of the adoption. The fee varies bird to bird, but will be established prior to the adoption.

Paco, What happens if an adopter moves out of state or across the country? Is the adopter legally bound to you forever by having to give a forwarding address every time there is a change? What if it is a couple who divorces and one person gets the bird and moves? How do you enforce your contract if these people do not tell you anything? These are questions that go through my mind so I hope you do not mind answering.
